Vineyard Worship Leader Bootcamp
We need host homes for a few days!
Can you help host a young musician? This summer, we're excited to be hosting a National Vineyard Worship Leader Bootcamp at the Westside Vineyard! Young musicians from all over the country will be joining us for a week of equipping and training! We are in need of several people to open their homes/apartments to provide hospitality Monday through Friday, July 23-27. The students will be super-busy, and will only need access to a bed and bathroom (maybe a granola bar each morning). All meals and transportation will be provided. If you would be willing to provide one or more beds, floor space, or couch space for those days, please let Pastor Joel know asap! Your hospitality will really be a blessing!
Sign me up to host!
Join us at Couple's Cafe on Friday night, August 10th at 7pm. This one-night event promises to offer you a lot of fun-it'll even be fun enough to invite your neighbors and friends. And it'll also bring some clarity to this amazing duet called marriage. You are making beautiful music together, but you also need some backup dancers along side your marriage. How do you develop a team around you that is FOR your marriage? Come on Friday and see!
No need to register for this event. Just show up. But if you need childcare, please sign up here for a nominal fee:
Are you wondering who Couple's Cafe is for? Is it for engaged, newly marrieds, couples with kids, couples without kids, empty nesters, couples in crisis - This event is for every married couple, that’s who it’s for. Can’t wait to see you there.
A source for growing through the common challenges of marriage. There is a difference between being married and building a marriage. The Couple's Cafe' is a quarterly gathering geared to give you an opportunity to invest in your marriage. All couples are invited!

Children are a gift from God. As believers we are called to recognize that children belong first and foremost to God. God in his goodness gives children as gifts to parentsThey not only have the awesome responsibility of caring for this gift, but also the wonderful privilege of enjoying the gift. Because children belong to God and are given by grace as gifts to parents, we believe it is only appropriate that children be dedicated back to God. The Bible admonishes us to raise our children in the Lord and to establish early in life a foundation based on the truths of the Bible. We believe that a good starting place is baby dedication.
We are offering a Baby Dedication Celebration on Sunday, June 3, 2018.
For us it's important that you understand the meaning and purpose of the Baby Dedication before registering your child(ren).
We invite you to join Jeff Schadt (founder of Revive Family) for two special sessions as he offers practical equipping for parents of children and teenagers. Jeff is a family coach, motivational speaker, and host of a radio program and podcast called Parenting in the 21st Century. Come and learn to target the root of behavioral and relational issues that take the joy out of being a parent. $10 per person or $20 per family. Price includes both days and dinner on Saturday.
Friday session - 7pm
Saturday session (faith-based) - 6pm
Parents, we are so pleased to be able to offer this amazing parenting two day event. We want EVERY PARENT to be able to financially afford to come. Also, we want EVERY PARENT of any or no faith to be able to experience the goodness of this strategy for raising kids. So although the seminar is two days long, each evening is a stand alone event with Friday night being a community event with material that is presented to numerous School Districts in Durango Colorado. Saturday will be a faith based entire family experience in which kids and adults alike will grow in their relationship with each other.
We can't wait to share either one or both days of this weekend with you and your family. It'll be life changing.
Please register below....
For those newer to the Vineyard who are desiring to explore or establish deeper connection and commitment, we encourage you to join us for this lunch and talk which will provide an overview of who we are, who we are called to become and how we move forward in embracing our calling as a church community. Childcare is free if you register by the previous Sunday.
- Why we exist
- The bigger picture of what the Vineyard is about
- What God has called us to be (our vision)
- How You can be a meaningful part of God's calling in this time and place
You also will be able to freely ask questions concerning these and other topics.
The class allows you the opportunity to meet the entire Westside Vineyard staff and several key leaders.
FRIDAY, MARCH 29, 5:30PM
Nothing is more central and compelling to our lives than the cross of Christ, which sets us free. Don't miss this opportunity to celebrate this timeless event through worship, reflection and communion. (Childcare for children 7 and under).
If you've never been baptized since making a decision to follow Jesus, then consider being baptized on Easter Sunday afternoon, April 1, in the Pacific Ocean!
Join us for one of our Baptism Informational Meetings if you're interested in finding out more.
Attending one of the Baptism meetings is required for those interested in being baptized on Easter Sunday. Baptism meetings will be immediately following every Sunday service on March 25.
If you're a middle or high school student interested in being baptized, then a special class is required for you. If you're a middle or high school student, contact Jonathan (Pastor of Student Ministries) to find out more.
Our Hospitality Teams are a huge part of what makes the Vineyard feel warm and welcoming on Sunday mornings. We take some brief time to prepare our courtyard and lobby with refreshments, coffee, information.... and we love to meet and greet new and old friends.
We're building our teams, and we need you!
We invite every man to join for a special time exploring 6 battles every man faces on their journey to a successful Christian life. Inspired by a book by Bill Perkins, we'll explore the battles for Identity, Personal Holiness, Family, Pain/Temptation, Friends and Faith. You'll hear from a number of your peers about how they've been personally affected in these areas and have grown in their faith. Don’t miss this opportunity to join with other men through worship, food, fellowship, prayer…and to grow personally in your journey as a man. Sign up today.

Our annual Vineyard Youth Winter Camp is fast approaching. We will be heading up to Big Bear on President's Day weekend, February 17-19, 2018. This trip is open to all current 6th-12th graders.
Winter Camp is a great opportunity for middle and high school students to join with other teenagers from Vineyard communities around SoCal and gather for spiritual growth, deepening of relationships, mountain memory-making, and maybe some snow!
The cost is $200 (early-bird). While a slightly higher cost than our Equip summer camp, we add the cost of professional transportation and facilities while there. We will be staying at Camp Cedar Lake. We don't want finances to prohibit participation, so partial financial aid is available to qualifying participants. If you're in need of financial assistance, please contact one of our youth pastors.
In our experience, trips like this one can include defining moments for your teenager's faith and spiritual growth. We encourage you to make this a priority and encourage your child to attend!
The cost will increase to $225 on January 1. Our total capacity is 45 (leaders & students combined). Register to reserve your spot.

Grow in Rediscovering the Art of Neighboring
through the Vineyard Host a Holiday Party Challenge!
WE’RE ENCOURAGING EVERYONE TO CONSIDER HOSTING A SIMPLE HOLIDAY PARTY FOR IMMEDIATE NEIGHBORS! HERE ARE SOME PRACTICAL SUGGESTIONS:
- Define the most natural group of 6 to 30 households around you.
- Pick a date on the first couple weekend in December.
- Often a simple cider and desert gathering in the afternoon / early evening allows a more open drop-in freedom.
- Use the term “holiday” rather than Christmas
- Keep it simple… it can help everyone feel more real and relaxed.
- A great way to build relationship in the process is to ask one or two neighbors about the idea and then if interested... put it on together.
- Purpose: to get to know your neighbors and learn to love them…
Thursday, November 23, Thanksgiving Day

A Man’s Calling
A special morning for men to gather… and grow. Men today still carry the desire to be heroes…but can feel less clear about their purpose and place. But our original call is still at hand…because God created man for greatness…and to care of the world. Dr Tony Evans, by video, brings this call to bear in a dynamic fashion. Tony Evans is considered one the most influential voices today. He is a pastor, speaker, best-selling author, and has served as chaplain for the NFL's Dallas Cowboys and NBA’s Dallas Mavericks.
The larger gatherings of the church provide a unique spiritual connection...as we join our voices in worship and hear God’s Word speak to us. However, the relational connection that we need to truly connect and grow, is what small groups are all about.
CONNECT . EXPLORE . GROW
Life. It is what God gives and we share together. Life Groups are where you will CONNECT with others and GROW in life rooted and flowing from God. Life Groups are not designed to simply be a social group…nor an academic study of the Bible. Life Groups are for those who know that growth requires change... and change involves personal exploration as well as supportive partners. Groups begin with larger group connection and a focus on God’s presence (worship) …and then, generally in smaller sets of 3 or 4, focus on how God is personally speaking to us through the Scriptures and forming His love in us.
While most of our groups are structured as Life Groups, we also have groups for special focuses. You will find all groups listed here. The choice to take the next step to connect and grow is yours. We believe it is one of the most valuable steps you will take.
