Sunday, March 26, 9am-4pm
There will be NO services on Sunday, March 26 in support of our large-scale outreach for the CicLAvia festival, which will transform our streets into fun spaces for walking, biking, skating, pushing strollers and seeing the city in a new way. A route from Culver City to Venice Beach - including our stretch of Centinela and Venice - will be closed to all motorized traffic.
We will be serving our community by hosting several activities and events in our north and south parking lots throughout the day; the Coffee Connection will also be open.
Volunteer for a 2.5 hour shift
North Lot: an area where more adult ages will relax and play. Help serve cold water, host an outdoor lounge with giant games (e.g., jenga and checkers), and help facilitate a giant art wall. There will be great nitro coffee from the Coffee Connection.
South Lot: a street carnival (with many jumpies, etc.) geared more for families w/ kids. Help monitor inflatable play areas, run games, etc.
PARKING: Volunteers may park in McBride School / Grand View West parking lot ½ block south along Centinela. The ONLY way to access this lot will be through its entrance from Mitchell Av (on its south side) coming from Grand View Blvd. If you are approaching from south of Washington Place, you MUST cross Washington Place at McLaughlin, take McLaughlin north to Venice, Venice west to Inglewood, and Inglewood south to Mitchell.
