In response to God's compassion and mercy for the world, we consider the mission of the church to be the mission of Jesus Christ continued on earth as He is embodied in us by the Holy Spirit. This mission is to proclaim the Good News, to set at liberty those who are oppressed and to proclaim the fulfillment of God's plan in history (Acts 1:8 and Luke 4:18).

We serve the local community through practical demonstrations of God’s love.

You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
— Jesus, Acts 1:8

VINEYARD FOOD PANTRY
AND POP-UP PANTRY

This week’s events:

Vineyard Food Pantry - Wednesday - 12:30pm-5:30pm
Pop-Up Food Pantry - Friday - 3:30pm-5:30PM

The Mar Vista Food Pantry at Westside Vineyard continues to serve nearly 1,000 Mar Vista residents weekly. Since launching, we have distributed about a million pounds of food!

This ministry relies solely on volunteers, and we need a significant number of volunteers weekly. We welcome volunteers who take part in the Westside Vineyard community and also those who don’t.

Please consider giving a portion of your time and energy and participating in the lives of your neighbors. Any amount of time helps. Our biggest need is from 12:30-3:30pm (when we are unloading the truck and packing grocery bags).

VINEYARD HOMELESS MINISTRY

This week’s eventS:

SNACK + HYGIENE KIT ASSEMBLY AND DISTRIBUTION
Wednesday, 1:00PM - 3:00pm

Every Wednesday while the Food Pantry is preparing for its giveaway, a small group of people work together to assemble snack and hygiene kits for our homeless neighbors. We then walk around the immediate vicinity of the Westside Vineyard and distribute the kits along with other clothing, blankets and supplies, pray with those who desire it and strive to develop relationships with those we see and meet. Our mission is to encourage and inspire our unhoused neighbors to utilize the many resources available to them to change the course of their lives.

HARVEST HOME

Harvest Home has been a ministry partner of Westside Vineyard for several years. A residential, Christ-centered home dedicated to meeting the needs of women in crisis pregnancy, Harvest Home transforms the lives of homeless pregnant women and their children by providing housing, support and programs that equip women to become great mothers.

Now that the new Home has opened in the Pico-Robertson area and residents have been moved in, Harvest Home is in need of some renovation help at the original Venice Home during the week of July 18. The needs include:

  • Clean up and landscape help with the front yard, sidewalk, patio and patio furniture.

  • Interior setup of moving all furniture back into place.

  • Handy work, including:

    • assembling new furniture, including a twin bed in a resident room, three dining tables and some cabinets;

    • putting up curtain rods and curtains in resident rooms; and

    • adding emergency furniture straps on heavy furniture throughout the home.
