LOCAL
In response to God's compassion and mercy for the world, we consider the mission of the church to be the mission of Jesus Christ continued on earth as He is embodied in us by the Holy Spirit. We support the following ministries as they strive to carry out God's mission for the church on a more local level:
THE WESTSIDE LEARNING ZONE
An after school program that assists families with 1st to 12th graders by providing youth with activities designed to help them academically, spiritually, socially and creatively to succeed in school and life. Ron Petronicolos is the director.
Vineyard Food Pantry + Pop-Up Pantry
The Mar Vista Food Pantry at Westside Vineyard Church continues to serve nearly 1,000 Mar Vista residents weekly. Since July 2020, we have distributed over a million pounds of food!
HOMELESS MINISTRY
We seek to serve some of those unhoused on the Westside in practical and compassionate ways.
HARVEST HOME
Sarah Wilson, Executive Director - A residential, Christ-centered home dedicated to meeting the needs of women in crisis pregnancy. Harvest Home helps transform the lives of homeless, pregnant women and their children.
NATIONAL
We support the following ministries as they strive to carry out God's mission for the church on a more national level:
VINEYARD USA
As part of the Association of Vineyard Churches, we support the national work which serves to plant and grow healthy churches and healthy leaders.
DESERT STREAM
Desert Stream Ministries provides help for Christians seeking sexual and relational wholeness… so that people can “love well” as God intended. Led by Andy Comiskey, and originally developed as part of the Westside Vineyard Church, DSM now serves the global church, primarily through its Living Waters programs. Living Waters is a 20 week closed group for men and women seeking healing in their lives.
GLOBAL
We support the following ministries as they strive to carry out God's mission for the church on a more global level:
INDIA VINEYARD PARTNERSHIP
Church Planting - We are committed to partnering with other U.S. Vineyard churches to then partner with Indian national leaders as they plant Vineyard churches and participate in the expanding Kingdom work in that nation.
VILLAGE VINEYARD CENTER
Pastor Sanjay has given his life to the uncared for castes surrounding the Dehradun area. He has now established various Vineyard Church congregations among different villages and groups as well as a training center to provide work skills. The Westside Vineyard has served as a source of support throughout these years.
LINUS MORRIS
Linus began leading lives to follow Christ during the Jesus Movement… and raising up leaders wherever he has been…from UCLA students…to planting churches throughout Europe. He now trains whole teams of national leaders in Majority World (non-western) nations, through a multiple stage process, to establish a lasting movement of reproducing leaders. He began the Divine Expedition training with Global Training Network (GTN) in 2012, rolling it out in in multiple trips and trainings over the initial decade in Uganda, Brazil, Nepal, Ethiopia, and El Salvador. They added another five countries in 2022.
